Mike, or “Coach K” as his son’s 8th grade basketball team calls him, is a leader on and off the court.
Mike has been managing and leading teams long before coming to Mad*Pow. Previously, he ran the Digital group at Boston-based advertising agency Partners + Simons, evolving the discipline while also helping grow the business. Mike founded the UX practice there, which was recognized in 2010 with a MITX best-in-show award. Over the years his teams went on to win two Webbys- the award for Healthcare Standard of Excellence as well as Best-Faith Based Website and a MITX category award in Life Sciences for Agilent Technologies.
Since Mike is comfortable shifting from one side of the brain to the other, he began his career as an award-winning designer and built a career working with digital teams, artists and technologists.
Mike’s work history includes First Marblehead, Bain & Company, Mintz Levin and Hasbro Interactive where he brought first generation websites for Monopoly(r) and Mr. Potatohead(r) to the web.
Mike’s client list includes top-tier brands including Prudential, Blue Cross/Blue Shield of MA, NJ, RI & MI, Tufts Medical Center, Agilent Technologies, Thermo-Fisher Scientific, Smith & Nephew, and Emerson Hospital.
Mike is passionate about synthesizing the offline and online tactics to achieve truly seamless and next generation brand experiences. His enthusiasm for experience design and authenticity has helped make friends-for-life of many of his client contacts.
In his free time, Mike is advises a number of local startups and plays in a pick-up basketball league on Thursday nights proving that an occasional pulled hamstring or broken hand can’t deter a creative thinker from completing amazing work.
